Volcano Facts

-Rabaul's highest peak is 688 meters high, or 2,257 feet.
-It is a cone shaped volcano, on East New Britain, in Papua New Guinea
-The plate boundary is convergent, oceanic to oceanic (Australian plate and Pacific plate)
-Its last eruption was March 2-10 of 2009, releasing ash and vapor
-Its a pyroclastic shield volcano, meaning its still active
-Neighboring volcanos are Kabiu, Turangunan, and Vulcan
-The volcano has an explosive eruption style
-Enviromental dangers include landslides, lightning strikes, tsunamis, and wild fires
